Friendships and family have never been so important. In the past 5 weeks I’ve been on the phone with more people around the world than I probably even have. Sharing thoughts, fears, advice. The frontlines are working so hard for us to stay home and to socially distance when outside. Following rules is never fun. But it’s important. We all have lost something, we all are missing something. But we have also gained something special no one ever has in this way before. Make the best of it. If you are healthy and you have a phone you’re doing better than a big part of this world. Appreciate what you have, the little things. Forgive, love, laugh. My heart is with everyone affected, with families grieving loss, with families struggling, with people lonely in isolation, with people trapped in a violent environment, with people who are refused their treatments until this pandemic is over. Back to Stuttgart to quickly hug my loved ones and then back home to NYC being back in Germany made me realize that I would be totally happy too if I had to move back here. Happiness is something so deep within you and the city you live in shouldn’t affect it. At least not a lot . Wherever I go I have a handful of people I feel so deeply connected with and I think that that’s all that matters.
